Maendeleo na Wakati Kilolo (MAWAKI) is a non-governmental organization headquartered in Ng’uruhe village, Kilolo District, Iringa Region. We began our journey in 2003.
Though hosted on the grounds of the R.C. Church, MAWAKI is an independent entity serving everyone regardless of religion or political affiliation. We operate based on dignity, transparency, and accountability.

We operate through a grassroots, research-driven approach, actively collaborating with local communities, government bodies, and stakeholders to identify and solve pressing challenges. By maintaining our independence and prioritizing transparency, we design and implement targeted projects that foster self-reliance and deliver measurable, sustainable impact for the people of Kilolo.

Improving community health through the “Tabasamu” clinic, “Lift for Life” transport for pregnant women, and the Vulnerable Fund.

Running 8 early childhood development centers for over 460 children, sponsoring students, and improving school infrastructures.

Operating the Dabaga Institute of Agriculture (DIA), a NACTEVET-accredited college offering certificates and diplomas.

Protecting 250 hectares of forest, running tree nurseries, distributing free seedlings, and fighting community forest fires.
